For once, I’m making a non-movie related post. For us Americans, it’s election day! If you’re American and registered to vote, I beg of you to go vote. Since I’m a bit of a political geek, I figured I’d leave an open post to get y’all’s feedback on the election and to generally have an open area to chit-chat about what’s going on today. Who are you voting for (if you feel like sharing that information)? What do you think of this election?
Non-Americans and those too young to vote (J.D.), feel free to chime in.
EDITED TO ADD: YAY, OBAMA! Yesssss!
I yelled at my mom last night for not birthing me three years earlier. I mean, the most important election in like 700 years, and I’m too fucking young to do anything about it?!
>>>>FUCK<<<<
J.D., I was too young to vote in the Bush/Gore election. I felt super bad about that one. I was just old enough to vote for Bush/Kerry. :D
I am sure that there will be another important election in our lifetime. :)
Yes, but I don’t know if there’ll be one as rallied as this one for a looong while. *sigh*
Plus, I’m totally paranoid about 2012 in general. Damn Mayans.

True. I’m sorry, J.D.

Personally, I think I’m going to err on the side of optimism and say that we’ll totally make it past 2012! Yay, J.D., there’s hope for your voting future, yet!
I voted! The wife and I took the little guy with us and everything. Even out here in Brooklyn, NY with no suspense to the outcome around these parts at all, the lines are long and the turnout is very high.
If nothing else, I feel it is pretty damn cool that so many people are energized and getting out to cast their ballots.

Awww, yay, Morgan, Morgan’s wife and little guy! The lines are long here in Texas, too. Way long. I’m so glad we early voted. I think 40% of Texas voters turned out early. (Sheesh!)

I know, right? I’ve only heard one person tell me they’re just not going to vote at all, and last election I heard a ton of people tell me they were just not going to vote at all. So it’s definitely a good feeling to see people motivated.
Don’t worry J.D. Due to the partisan (wedge) politics that strike a deep divide in this nations populace, every single presidential election for the next 12-16 years (at least) is going to be this hotly contested. You’ll have plenty more chances to be outraged and disgusted. Trust me.
Anyhoo, Caitlin…I saw Midnight Meat Train the other night. Y’know, Barker’s new flick (Clive, not Bob). Not too bad. I thought it had a good thing going up until the end. I don’t know if you plan on seeing it so I won’t spoil it.

Eventually, but you can go ahead and spoil it. :D

Absolutely. It’s the right of every American to be consistently outraged and disgusted. :D

Okey dokey! Ever see Jeepers Creepers? Where you have this kick ass movie about some whackjob who is terrorizing and eating kids for no apparent reason and is totally scary….until you find out that he’s not a person at all. Instead he’s some sort of mythical creature and is actually kinda lame…Yeah, that’s sorta how MMT was. Awesome, brutal, silent villain: Vinnie Jones is the butcher (he only says one word in the entire movie. Awesome.). But then the ending pulls this supernatural chicanery that leaves you feeling like they didn’t really have an ending.
Absolutely. It’s the right of every American to be consistently outraged and disgusted. :D
It’s the truth! I swear I think the White House has my vomit reflex on speed dial.
Hahaha, andrew! Thanks for at least preparing me for MMT, otherwise I would’ve been sorely disappointed.

I say, I say! Well played, good sir and I concur wholeheartedly.
MEGA FRICKING HUZZAH.
Amen, J.D.!
